Synthotronica + Emah Fox @ POH

Synthotronica + Emah Fox @ POH

Friday, February 28, 2020 @ 8:30PMFri, Feb 28, 2020 @ 8:30PM

The Post Office Hotel, 229-231 Sydney Rd, Coburg

Synthotronica is the electronic alter-ego of producer and multi-instrumentalist Ania Reynolds. Drawing on her many years’ experience as a soundtrack composer, her original music is dynamic, dramatic and cinematic, combining lush soundscapes with world grooves, kooky synths and live baritone sax to produce an original sound that is evocative and richly melodic.

National and international performances include Tollwood Winter Festival Munich, The Melbourne Planetarium, Club Geral and the Cantagalo Favela (Rio de Janeiro), Summer Thrills Mildura and most recently, Karnidale Circus Festival WA. Fresh from busting out beats on the back of a Bedford,

Synthotronica plays the Post Office on Friday Feb 28, joined by fellow musician/producer Emah Fox (for whom she is an occasional Moogist). Emah’s dark brand of synth pop pits urgent beats and ominous synths against sweet polyrhythmic melody, for an evening guaranteed to please synth- lovers and groovers alike!

Warplane / Emah Fox / Soft Rubbish

Warplane / Emah Fox / Soft Rubbish

Friday, October 5, 2018 @ 7:00PMFri, Oct 5, 2018 @ 7:00PM

Yarra Hotel, 295 Johnston Street, Abbotsford

WARPLANE - Combine geometric guitar lines, propulsive drums, ghostly synths, subs that embrace or unsettle, and vocals that float like an ephemeral scent that you can’t quite place. It is a band forensically examining the less obvious choices. This is not pop music. Following up the release of the debut single 'Drift' in August, Warplane will be playing another headline set at the Yarra Hotel. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uLz10I5PTwE

Joined with very special guests

EMAH FOX -Her dark brand of synth pop pits urgent beats and ominous synths against sweet polyrhythmic melody. The intricate production satellites around lucid vocals which shift from restrained intensity to epic and soaring.

SOFT RUBBISH- Is an angry fourway-post-psych-punk-pop band. Julie Montan, Joseph Foley, Renato Vacirca, Matthew Sincock are an internal scream externalised, a lament about planned obsolescence, our lost affinity with nature and a cry for justice and kindness in the golden age of advanced capitalism. categories

Using a wide variety of aliases (including Andras, Art Wilson, Wilson Tanner, Berko) his releases are increasingly concerned with dissecting and reassembling an Australian vernacular sound and identity.
