EMAH FOX is a musician and producer based in Melbourne, Australia. Her dark brand of synth pop pits urgent beats and ominous synths against sweet polyrhythmic melody and lucid, intense vocals. Intricate production satellites around a three octave vocal range which shifts from restrained intensity to epic and soaring. Her musical explorations have earned critical acclaim from ROLLING STONE ‘nothing sort of joyous’, MINISTRY OF SOUND ‘emotive vocals and fine lyrics’ and REVOLVER ‘world-class electronica’.
As a sound designer and composer for theatre since 2015, several of her scores have been nominated for Green Room Awards. She developed and leads regular workshops on synthesis at Melbourne Electronic Sound Studio, and her artist statement 'Time, Autonomy & Self-expression in Sound' was published in the ICMA Journal 2017/18 (International Computer Music Association). She is currently in production on her upcoming debut solo synth-pop album 'Elements'.
